Issues:
(1) Dean Bachman mentioned the need to get donations for preparing meals for
the Pontiac Warming Center. We will be working there February 24 th . Last year
we spent $2,095.76 for Warming Center food preparation.
(2) We need to plan what we will be serving and how to coordinate any other
activities at the Warming Center. Members of St. Luke’s may be called to oversee
showers of Warming Center residents.
(3) Mention was made of a United Methodist Men’s Website. Charlie stated that
some of us need help operating a computer to take advantage of the website.
(4) Charlie Martin mentioned that he would be going away for three weeks in
October. What should be done in his absence? Before his last trip to North
Carolina, Charlie Martin showed Dean Bachman how to make use of the water system for the garden.

(5) How is St. Luke’s garden coming along?
(6) Do we have enough people to work on the Adopt-a-Road program?
(7) More than 50 people are needed to make a profit on the Fieldstone Dinner.
(8) Gordon, at Fieldstone, is retiring. Gene Heline is having an operation for an
aneurism Wednesday the 4 th of September. Pastor Scott Manning is getting a
phone number for Bill Knisley. We are arranging a going away party for the
Knisleys. Pastor Manning is receiving his new foreign exchange students. Dean
Bachman is organizing the Youth Group to work on the house of deceased church
members mowing their overgrown grounds.
Under Consideration:
(1) We should consider asking the St. Luke’s Congregation for funds to prepare
meals at the Pontiac Warming Center.
(2) Chris Aris said that Jack Dalton recommended Salisbury steak and the
spaghetti sauce we bought for a UMM’s St. Luke’s dinner. Jack advised that we
avoid the chicken nuggets that were not liked. It was suggested that one member
of St. Luke’s be present to take the names down of people using the men’s and
women’s showers.
(3) How should we take advantage of the new United Methodist’s Men’s Website?
How can we best work together doing this?
(4) Before leaving St. Luke’s for extended trips, members may consider how to
best impart, their knowledge, skills and gifts to those who will remain at St. Luke’s
in their absence.
(5) Cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelon on the fence is ready to be
harvested from St. Luke’s garden.
(6) Dean Bachman suggested a sign-up sheet for Adopt-a-Road.
(7) Perhaps enough people have signed-up for the Fieldstone Dinner? We may
wish to encourage more people to come?
